Center for the Collective Use of Scientific Equipment «Modern Technologies for the Earth and Solar System Materials Study» (hereinafter referred to as the Center) created in Taras Shevchenko Kyiv National University (hereinafter referred to as the University) as a separate unit and operates with the aim of modernizing laboratory base and the most rational use of unique and valuable scientific equipment of domestic and foreign production, other objects of research infrastructure in the interests of Ukrainian scientific community, improving of the educational process quality and the level of scientific research, providing services to customers on contractual basis.
Members of the Center are laboratory units of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv Institute of Geology, which specialize in research of material composition, structure and physical properties of rocks, ores, products of their processing, hydrocarbon collectors.
Activities of the Center are regulated by current legislation of Ukraine, the Statute of the University, the Collective Agreement of the University, the Rules of Internal Labor Procedures, orders of the Rector, other normative documents, the Regulation on the Center for the Collective Use of Scientific Equipment «Modern Technologies for the Earth and Solar System Materials Study», complementary cooperation agreements with other organizations.

The main aim of the Center’s activities is to provide scientists, higher education and scientific degree seekers, higher education institutions of Ukraine, other organizations and institutions ability to conduct research on modern level scientific equipment, other objects of scientific infrastructure, which are manned by qualified personnel capable of maintaining equipment in working order and provide consultations and other scientific services.
Objectives of the Center are as follows:
- assistance in implementation of state target scientific and scientific-technical programs and scientific (scientific-technical) projects on prioritized topic research and scientific-technical developments;
- involvement of students, masters, postgraduates and young scientists from all over Ukraine in research and development work;
- carry out joint and interdisciplinary scientific research with domestic and foreign scientific institutions and institutions of higher education;
- assistance in international scientific and technical cooperation.
Measurement works in the Center for the Collective Use of Scientific Equipment «Modern Technologies for the Earth and Solar System Materials Study» are conducted according to the CERTIFICATE recognition of measurement capabilities, issued DP «UKRMETTESTSTANDARD» № PT-8/23 from 05.01.2023 (valid through 04.01.2025). The Center can provide services of both scientific and, scientific-industrial profile, carry out scientific and scientific-industrial expertise ordered by Ukrainian or foreign organizations.
